for paving new artistic ways in prosaic corroded environments, persistent exposure of constant electronic influences, need of finding navigation areas in personal artistic creativity and gallery activities. Sub Bau is run by five young artists: Stefan Karlsson, Stefan Linderoth, Lena Danielsson, Lars Wulcan och Maria Lindberg, operating in the grey zone between money and energy, spawning the idea that money is something that really doesn't exist. Sub Bau has featured a number of exhibitions and happenings, among other things. One day I found a dented postcard in my mailbox. It was sent by Göteborg's Konstmuseum. Sub Bau invited its members and present museum staff to an exhibition called "Göteborg's Konstmuseum visits Sub Bau". Down at Sub Bau, under constant video surveillance, hung a golden framed photo of Göteborg's Konstmuseum. That afternoon, Göteborg saw a postmodern shortcut. After the constant basement level gallery surveillance during recent years, one tends now - spring 1988 - to approach environments with, so to speak, automatic surveillance.
