| SBN are a forum for genre border crossing activity run by artists. SBN is maintained by the artists Stefan Karlsson, Henryk Lipp, Johan Nordqvist, Roger Sarjanen. Established by Stefan Karlsson as early as 1982 the Sub Bau Gallery has since performed an important part in avant-garde art. Moreover, the Sub Bau Gallery has also spawned many noteworthy projects outside its own walls, such as Re-Form in 1986, the City Galleries of Malmö, Göteborg, Stockholm, and Oslo, in 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1998 respectively. In January 1998 the Sub Bau Gallery became SBN as a reflection of its intense development, and is now a gallery with extended exhibition activity. artists and audience.The network concept is an all time consideration in its physical sense of co-working with other artistic projects as well as various www based projects. SBN continues to plan and run extrovertly oriented projects, has since the beginning of the year with its gallery, stage and bar provided an important focal point in the artistic world. Over summer one can keep the eyes on the Mail in Sweden exhibition, which is an assembly of about thirty Swedish artists's work put together and made into a collage of small see-through cupboards. As its most important mark for the future SBN will reduce traditional gallery exhibition arrangements in favour of what is known as the SBN Project Room. |
